A Road to Å
Produced at IIT College of Architecture for Arch 497 – “Botanical Urban Anatomy”
Lofoten Islands, Norway, Summer 2017
Graphite on Arches
36 in x 42 in
Four sections cut through a winding road along the Lofoten Islands. Inspired by the work of Alexander von Humboldt, the drawing is an illustrated record of the native plants, wildlife, geological strata, temperature, and observed cultural practices. A shift in scale gives higher clarity to details too small to see in section.
