Ecological Tapestry

South of the Sava River in Blato, Croatia exists 2,000,000 square meters of highly vegetated and ecologically diverse land. Aside from an unfinished concrete hospital, the land is entirely unprogrammed. The proposed project explores ideas for a new type of hybrid urbanism. Networks of ecological streets are organized with consideration to proximity, sub-cultures, and the desire for a shared type of living. Connecting each neighborhood is a series of architectural and landscape interventions called ‘stitches’.
