Home for a Potters’ Guild
Seattle, WA (2024)
The original Home for a Potters’ Guild was conceived circa 2007 in your average Midwestern suburban classroom. The teacher said, “draw a picture of what you want to be when you grow up” and the pig-obsessed architect-aspiring-kindergartener drew whimsical scenes of a twisting pig-tail driveway, snout-shaped window openings, and pointed skylight ears.
Is it a Duck or Shed?
One B.Arch degree later and a persistent fondness for pigs, Home for a Potters’ Guild revisits the idiosyncrasies of Pig House (the OG name) with the help of some graphic standards and basic wall assemblies.
The house, while peculiar and fantastical in subject, remains desperately, apathetically, mundanely suburban in demeanor.
It’s a Duck.
